COMPANY STRATEGY

KPIs

Key performance indicators

Visits measure skier and activity use at each Skimore location and directly affect revenue from retail, rentals, food, beverage, and ski school. Our access systems track these numbers accurately.

Yield per visit is total visitor revenue divided by visits.

Visitation frequency shows how often a unique member visits. We track this well for members but not yet for guests.

In 2022, memberships and guest passes made up 76% of AS Parks’ revenue. Over the last seven years, we shifted strategy to grow loyalty and frequency, since traditional pricing didn’t maximize visits or revenue. In 2015/16 we changed pricing, and in 2019/20 we launched the Skimore membership model, which boosted loyalty and frequency further. In 2020, AS Parks bought Kongsberg Skisenter, rebranded as Skimore Kongsberg, to expand membership potential. Membership revenue has grown steadily since.

SUSTAINABILITY

AS Parks’ vision is to activate people and promote a healthy outdoor lifestyle. Operating ski resorts, schools, and activity parks has an environmental impact, and AS Parks recognizes both its responsibility to reduce this and its influence in promoting outdoor benefits.

Improvement is central to the company. Snow depth monitoring helps optimize grooming and production, while continued investment aims at more energy-efficient snowmaking. Daily operations focus on efficient lifts, slope lighting, and reducing plastic waste through mobile access.

Ski resorts will always require energy, but usage is not tied to visitor numbers. For sustainability, resorts must be fully utilized, so AS Parks measures energy per visit. The goal is a 13% reduction by 2030, achieved through lower energy use and higher attendance.
